Spotted in Florida? Child Missing in Angry Cape Cod Breakup

It very well may be the understatement of the century to say that breakups can get nasty, but for one Massachusetts man, his break-up took the worst turn possible, and he is turning to social media to help him make things right.

Jeff Leonard and the mother of his child, Shannon Reckner, used to switch custody of their child Kellan every week, until one week in November when she simply didn’t show. Leonard had gotten a text from her saying that she wasn’t going to show up, and he has gotten nothing but silence ever since. He later found out that Reckner had filed a restraining order against him, alleging sexual abuse of Kellan, but the judge later rescinded the order and placed Kellan into custody of the Department of Children & Families until things could be worked out.

Leonard has tried every way he can think of to get in touch with her, but for all intents and purposes, she has vanished. This has sparked a multi-state manhunt looking for Reckner, who is believed to be on the loose with a friend.

A warrant for her arrest has been issued, but she has reportedly deactivated her cellphone and her movement patterns have been unpredictable.

She was reportedly seen in Tennessee and Florida, but she still has managed to avoid law enforcement, so Leonard has been reaching out to social media and news outlets, trying to spread the issue as far as he can. He formed a public group on Facebook called “Bring Kellan Home” which has gathered support from around the country.

Leonard has pleaded with anyone who might have information about the kidnapping to contact authorities immediately. He states “this is about Kellan. He needs to be safe. He’s not safe now, and I know it.”
